This cannot be done with any other switch currently on the market. This can then be used to trigger an event in a HomeSeer system. Here is the device view of 1 HS-WD100+ dimmer: When the switch paddle is pressed, double-tapped, triple-tapped, the "central scene" device changes status. What sets these switches apart from all others is the combination of features embedded into the firmware. Insteon for HS3 (mnsandler) Discussions related to Mark Sandlers 3rd party plug-in for controlling Insteon devices via Smarthomes PLM interfaces (the 2412 & 2413 series controllers) or the Insteon Hub (2245) No forums found. HS is in the middle of a long, slow upgrade from HS2 to HS3. The ISY is stable product with a predictable, managed upgrade path. NET programming, if that is a skill you have VB or C. indeed, the original GE switches were manufactured by ACT (as were the Evolve and Linear Z-Wave switches). Bottom line: ISY support is better and easier to program. There are many manufacturing partnerships in this industry. eta here's the comment right from the horse's mouth (homeseer rep) quote:
all use the same product but homeseer runs a custom firmware which you dont need (allows double-tap & shite on the switch itself) so i would buy that switch in a heartbeat. I Verified that the COM was COM 7 and entered that in configuration screen, Even shut down HS4 and installed the USB device and re-installed it.

I have installed the drivers (several times).
#Homeseer forum insteon plus#
as for the switch, i've done some research on the domitech/dragon tech/homeseer switch. I have a homeseer plus (HS4) and a USB 2448A7 interface. I am not going to comment beyond saying this is a Control4 forum, so I think. I think the wink hub would be perfectly functional in this case and pretty inexpensive as far as multi-purpose hubs go. Non-Biased Insteon and Homeseer Opinions Non-Biased Insteon and Homeseer Opinions. So CAD, you're suggestion would be the Wink Hub and a switch like this? zwave+ is now out, which extends the range even more.for your purposes i'd seriously look at a zwave+ switch if you don't have a place for intermediate hops. I put a zwave switch a good 80-100ft from my house (pool pump timer) and it has yet to miss an on/off scheduled event from the hub. ge has a blue led, leviton has a green one and 'toggle' button (you hit the same place to turn it on and off) and lutron looks more professional. HomeSeer exhibits the same problem with X10 but isn't involved from four other computers using the Insteon Hub into X10 modules I guess with the PLM it would have to co-exist with a CM11 for X10 for a hybrid system if that was the case. i reviewed switches somewhere in that massive wink thread but after a year, honestly they are all about the same. lutron looks the best and has never EVER given me a single hiccup but its a proprietary radio which won't MESH if you're looking to extend the range of your network.

for research purposes i paired lutron, leviton, ge & intermatic switches and they all work just fine. If I went with the wink hub what would be the best switch to pair it with?Īny. CAD, I'm aware of your love affair with WinkĬlearly you haven't kept up with my responses in that thread.
